Educating vulnerable children in Uganda · Kampala, Uganda

Every child deserves a place in class.

We educate vulnerable children in Uganda. We pay school fees, provide books and uniforms, and remove the barriers, from an unsafe home to a missing sanitary pad, that keep children out of the classroom.

Our pillars of impact

Everything a child needs to keep learning

Education is our mission. School fees alone are not enough, so we also make sure children have a safe place to sleep and that girls have sanitary pads, because both decide whether a child is in class.

Where donations go

Clear costs, receipts for every payment

Here is what it costs to keep one child in school for a full year, and how we make sure the money gets there.

One child, one school year

$600

  • School fees

    $450 (75%)

Paid directly to the school, with an official receipt.

  • Scholastic materials & uniform

    $150 (25%)

Books, stationery, mathematical set, uniform, shoes and bag.

Online card and Mobile Money payments are processed by Pesapal, which deducts a transaction fee of about 3.5%. Housing and sanitary pad support is funded on top of this, according to each family’s need.

  1. 1

    We verify every family

Children are identified with local leaders and teachers, and our volunteers visit each home before support begins.

  2. 2

    We pay schools directly

Fees go straight to the school, never as cash to families, and we keep the official receipt for each payment.

  3. 3

    We follow up every term

Volunteers check attendance with teachers and visit children through the year.

  4. 4

    We report back

Sponsors receive updates on how funds were used. Ask us for receipts at any time.

  5. Want to see a receipt? Ask us on WhatsApp and we will share school fee receipts and distribution records.

The families behind the work

Why we started

There is a woman in our community whose life changed overnight. Her husband was a hardworking businessman. His friends trusted him with money to travel to China and buy stock for their shops, and he went hoping to grow his business and provide for his young family.

Things did not go as planned. The money was lost, and when he returned he had no way to repay it. He was arrested and is now in prison, leaving behind a wife without work and two children who still need school fees, books and a chance at a future.

Every morning she wonders how she will feed her children and keep them in school. Children should not lose their education because of circumstances they did not choose. That is why we started Every Child in Class: so that children like hers stay in school.

Field updates will appear here

We publish updates from schools and families only with a guardian’s consent, using first names and our own photos. Sponsors also receive updates directly.
